Chapter two starts talking about culture right away. On page 23 it says that culture goes beyond what different people wear and eat, what holidays they celebrate, and the types of homes they dwell in. I know that in my house my culture is seen right away as soon as you walk in the door. My family and I watch television together 95% of the time. We eat dinner together every night. We listen to music and dance on the nights that we don't watch television. Everything is done as a family. We even go to the stores as a family, just not the mall my dad just gives us the money to go. ha ha I have notice that hispanics, mexicans, and latinos are all about families being united.
At schools there are many types of cultures, at the schools that I went to hispanic culture was the majority. I felt at home at school and in my classes because it was like being at home. The majority of my friends were and are hispanic and even the funny thing is that my anglo friends spoke and understood spanish. I guess because they were so used to being around us and plus we went to school together since we were younger I guess how we say in spanish no mas se les pego el esponol.
Ones' culture in a way has to do with the way they learn and the things they do. Even
the types of books that we read.
