chap 1 and children's literature authors
In chapter one called Believing in living Literature, What I found most interesting was the fact that teachers make sure that their classroom libraries are like a living room set. therefore making the students feel more at home. teachers also make sure that the books students have access to are high quality literature of various types. in the chapter there was a certain paragraph about believing in children. i found that past interesting and when i read that part i remembered about a book that Dr. Ferguson read to us on Tuesday i don't remember the name or the author but i will look up on that. well anyways the book was about a little girl who loved books and loved to draw, she really wanted to learn how to read but she had trouble learning and she some how managed to go all the way to the fifth grade without knowing how to read. all the students would laugh and they would make fun of her calling her dumb. her teacher would defend her and one day he figured out that she could not read so he taught her. he would stay after school and help her. then at the end of the book she tells him thank you. but i really enjoyed that book it made me want to cry i need to but that book! well those are things that show you that not every child learns at the same speed some learn fast than others and some need more time and patients which is fine. well that's enough about the chapter now i want to tell you all about Barbara Park the author of the Junie B Jones books i absolutely love to read these books and a never read them as a child i read these books last year a fell in love with them. and believe me if you plan on teaching kinder or first grade you should really think about investing money in buying some of these books the students will love them and so will you.
sorry everyone
